Dear Colleagues, dear Friends,
As the festive season draws near, I would like to send to all of you and your families my most affectionate and sincere good wishes for a Merry Christmas and New Year. May bring much-needed serenity and peace to our hearts despite the terrible events which we are facings all over the world.
Let us continue to provide a good example in our daily interactions inside the family, the workplace, the institutions: to demonstrate that loyalty to professional commitments can go hand in hand with the principles of solidarity and with openness at all times to the common good, so thanks to everyone for what you do.
It is also a moment to reflect on our year’s activities. In 2023 the Miami Scientific Italian Community celebrated its 10° anniversary! We had intense moments as a community. Thanks to the Founding Members, the Board of Directors and all of you for the good work done in spreading and in supporting the Italian Scientific Research, which are our two bylaw objectives which have included several events and collaborations with our country and beyond:

European Researchers’ Night. The visits to the new laboratories of Sapienza, Enea, Politecnico di Torino, the extension of partnerships with Lazio Innova and Retimpresa.
Laura Fulci of Politecnico di Torino, Jeanne Marie Viviani of Florida Atlantic University, and Erin N. Kobetz of the University of Miami have been appointed to the International Advisory Board. Karin Scarpinato at Kennesaw State University and Shiva Loccisano at Behold, University of Bologna.
Roberta Brambilla, Margherita Mencattelli-Mkparu and Michele Migliuolo as new members of MSIC’s Scientific Community. Teodoro Valente to the presidency of the Italian Space Agency. Roberto Morabito to the Presidency of CETMA.
The team of Scientific and Space Attachés getting stronger with Paolo Gaudenzi (Boston) and Marcello Alecci (Chicago) have been added.
The organization of PMI DAY 2023 in the U.S. and Brazil was a huge success.The National Space Day 2023 that featured Riccardo Bevilacqua and Massimiliano Galeazzi, and Science and Industry workshop on Media Innovation co-organized by Maria Gentile and featured Andrea Macario.
Finally, the Premio Eccellenza Italiana Award Recognition in the categories of Technological Innovation and International Cooperation received at Georgetown University in D.C with our friend Antonello Pileggi, first President of MSIC.
The institutional meeting with the new Consul General of Italy H.E. Michele Mistó.
…..and we will begin 2024 with a international event in Miami and featuring Erminia Fardone and Marco Baldocchi on two panels and The Information Technologies SERIES featuring Laura Fulci, Politecnico di Torino and Andrea Pagnin Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia.
