Internship Opportunity with the European Union

The European Union “Jean Monnet” Chair  is offering an innovative program combining an internship training and individualized research supervision. Available to all undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Miami, it is sponsored by a grant awarded by the European Union. A certificate of expertise will be issued. This experience is highly valued when applying for internships at the EU sites or other private and government employment.

This program will be administered by  EU Jean Monnet chair, and Peter Vavrik, head of Legislative Action of the European Parliament, European Union USA Fellow in residence at UM.

Students will be able to choose among a variety of topics for research, following some of the current issues facing the EU, the US and Latin America: The Euro crisis, immigration, regional integration, the planned Trade and Investment agreement between the US and the EU, the “Atlantic Community”, challenges of terrorism and nationalism, etc.

To receive full academic credit for UM requirements, candidates should register in one of these two courses: INS 591/653 or INS 594/694. Following the courses is not required.
