On Monday, February 14th, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. ET , the third meeting of the permanent webinar on “Big data and medicine: old misunderstandings and new alliances” will be held online, organized as part of the events promoted by the research center S.T.I.T.C.H. – Sapienza Information-Based Technology InnovaTion Center for Health.
The objective of the webinar, coordinated by Lorenzo Farina of Diag and Giselle Murat of STITCH center, is to deepen the growing need to spread to health professionals, science educators, as well as ordinary citizens and policy-makers, the awareness that progress in medicine passes through the close collaboration between different professionals and the creation of new languages and ways of thinking about disease and health.
This allows to fully benefit from the great opportunity that modern molecular (omics) technologies offer us. In this context, Big data have already produced significant paradigm shifts in clinical research. T
he third meeting will host the interventions of Gilberto Corbellini of Sapienza University, “Big data and medicine: epistemological and ethical aspects”, and Domenico Talia of the University of Calabria, “Big data analysis for health: ideas and application scenarios”.
